Become a Circle Leader.

Circles is an initiative that supports individuals and families with low incomes in permanently moving ahead and becoming financially healthy. We call participants Circle Leaders because you are the expert of your own experiences and the one leading your journey toward change. Circles provides the time, space, resources, and support to help make your goals a reality.

Before starting the program, you’ll take part in training that equips you to be a successful Circle Leader.

After completing training, you will be paired with at least two volunteers—your Allies—who walk alongside you throughout your journey. They are there to encourage you, celebrate your progress, and support the goals you set for yourself.

At Circles, you’ll also have access to a wide network of resources, including volunteer teams dedicated to helping you find employment, build job skills, pursue education, navigate social services, and more.

The Circles process is a minimum of 18 months and is designed to help you:

  • Become financially stable

  • Share your story and feel understood

  • Use your gifts and strengths

  • Improve communication and time management

  • Be recognized and respected for who you are

  • Have a stronger voice in your community

  • Become a positive role model for your children

  • Set goals, make progress, and achieve results

Circles includes weekly gatherings where dinner and childcare are provided.

Become a Circle Ally.

A Circle Ally is a volunteer who walks alongside a Circle Leader as they work toward stability and long-term financial health. Allies don’t “fix” or direct someone’s life — you build a supportive, intentional friendship and cheer them on as they pursue the goals they choose.

Before beginning, you’ll receive training that gives you a deeper understanding of poverty in our community and practical tools for being an effective partner and listener.

Once training is complete, you’ll be paired—along with at least one other Allies—with a Circle Leader. Your role is simple but powerful: show up, listen, support, and celebrate progress.

You won’t do this alone. At Circles, you’ll be part of a community of volunteers working together to create meaningful change. As an Ally, you’ll build relationships across lines of experience, gain new perspectives, and play a part in reducing poverty in our community.
